Adam Smith keeps scoring belters

I wonder what odds you would have got on Adam Smith opening his account with the first AFCB goal of the season. Well we might expect some more to come from Adam as he has started to get a taste for rattling in shots that are too hot to handle.

I was impressed with Adam Smith in pre-season even though he only got a couple of games. He has come back and attacked the season knowing that he had a very good chance of being the right back of choice after what he did in 2015/16. Now he has started to release shots as well as go on long dribbling runs and his confidence will build if he keeps cracking in goals like he did against Man Utd. He is starting to get quite a collector's album. I don't remember many average goals from Adam and I'm more than happy if he prefers to hit the top corner to bust the net.
Adam Smith warms up before the match against Man Utd.
The fact that Smith gets forward so well is certainly to his credit. When he pays as an out and out winger he does not always find the space ahead of him to run into but when playing as full-back he often starts in more space and that gives him a real run at the opposition which I think he benefits from. His shooting is also very accurate and it must be hoped that the team can be lifted by thinking more about what they did well against Man Utd than the negatives.

Adam was a big positive and it's up to others in the team as well to lift their game to his standard. The back four as a whole will not be pleased about letting in three goals but Steve Cook had a solid game and Boruc was confident in goal.

Transfer News
AFCB completed the transfer of Marc Wilson on Monday. Are we becoming a club that only signs players with the same surnames! Good luck Marc and welcome to AFCB.

  1. Is it again a sign of one of the managers things that he has a penchant for signing players he has played with before...Gradel and now Wilson...I still think we need a new defensive partnership..Ake and Wilson...maybe they will start against Morecambe....seems to be the best signing of the summer will be Lewis Cook...looks a steal compared with the prices being paid.....
