Where is AFCB's set piece expertise?

AFCB have been given numerous amount of free kicks in good positions in recent matches. We have seen them taken by Adam Smith at Southampton and Ryan Fraser and Simon Francis against Chelsea. Unfortunately, they all missed their target and were either blocked or didn't even make the keepers do any work.
AFCB have not scored for quite some time from a free kick.
It's not clear why the Cherries are not using the striking ability of Jack Wilshere on some of their free-kicks. Perhaps he does not fancy them at the moment, but he has an outstanding shot and is one of the most accurate players in the Premier League. We have seen AFCB have enough problems over penalties and who should take them, but there never seems to be a regular free kick taker which makes me wonder if AFCB do enough training on making these situations count for something. Junior Stanislas has sadly been injured and has not had as many chances to delver crosses or shots from these moment and while Surman has taken some in the past, it was probably about three seasons ago, up at Nottingham Forest, when we last saw Surman score from one of these free kicks - no I'm corrected even that was a long shot from outside the box.

It is such an important part of the game now that it would be sensible for AFCB to see if they have a player amongst their ranks who can add this to their game like Dimitri Payet did so well for West Ham. When he stepped up to take a free kick it was like a penalty, but with AFCB there has not been any goals of such quality.

Of course, AFCB were punished too by Chelsea who did have a player who could hit the top corner from a free kick. I had expected Hazard to take the second half free kick they won, when Marcus Alonso stepped up to smash it into the top right corner.

The tabloids are linking Steve Cook with a move to Everton

  1. Surman's goal at forest was a long range shot, but not a freekick. We need Yann back.
