Clock watch: when do the goals go in for AFCB?

As it is a quiet period for games it has given Cherry Chimes a moment to reflect on what has already happened in the first five league games and the two cup ties. A bit of analysis on when the goals have been going in may make more sense of what has been going on I thought. Perhaps there is a clear pattern? Well let's see.

I was quite surprised to see that the Cherries are certainly scoring at one particular time of matches at the moment. Whatever you do, don't leave your seat between the 26 and 30 minute! AFCB have scored three times in this period with just one other goal coming in a first half on 43 minutes, which was Lewis Grabban's goal against Wigan Athletic. AFCB's second half performances have brought three goals and these were packed between the 54th and 68th minutes. So a very quick analysis would assume that the Cherries are not particularly quick out of the blocks and are not banging in the goals late on in games so far.

I wonder if the way we played against Doncaster by really taking the game to them was a message from Eddie Howe that the team needs to get going much quicker. The matches in which AFCB has scored first have been the ones when the Cherries have had a positive result. With Watford scoring first against us in the league game and Huddersfield scoring four before AFCB could reply, defeat was on the cards you might say. I am sure that soon the team will come from behind to win a game, but it is not the thing you want to be setting out to achieve from the off.

This is only half the story. What can I say? The goals against column has been rather busy. Still AFCB has only conceded two goals before the 30 minute mark and only four in the first 45 minutes of games. May be the half time team talks have not quite worked so far. The second 45 minutes are a bit different - nine goals going in before the 90 minute mark. Five of these were clustered around the 53-66 minute period. Only two goals came really late on in the 88th and 90+ minutes.
