Team News: Boro v AFCB First start for Rantie

The AFCB team line up for the Boro game was keenly anticipated with so many players either out or facing late fitness tests to see if they would play. Among the players that fans were anxious to hear about were Charlie Danlies and Shaun MacDonald - both were out (Macca on the bench). Noticeable absentees that were guaranteed included Harry Arter, Mohamed Coulibaly, Matt Ritchie and Andrew Surman. Rantie was expected to be on the bench, but Eddie Howe has given him his first AFCB full start and Richard Hughes came in to the team. Fraser was dropped to the bench - correction, picked up injury and McDermott replces him on bench.

The Riverside has seen a bit of a revamp with the home crowd now sitting behind both ends like the AFCB fans do at Dean Court. Not many Cherry fans were expected to make the trip up north even though Middlesbrough have one of the best stadiums in the Championship. The journey is certainly one of the longest the players and fans will have to make this season.

AFCB
Allsop, Francis, Cook, Elphick, Ward, Pugh, Hughes, O'Kane; Rantie, Pitman, Grabban.

Subs: Flahavan, Harte, MacDonald, Thomas, McDermott, McQuoid, Addison
