September award shows Pugh is on the right track

I had not mentioned Pugh's pleasing return to form in the last month, but he is beginning to see more of the ball in AFCB's games once again. The header against Huddersfield got his goal scoring off fairly early this season and I though his finish against Barnsley was inspired. It's such a shame that he did not think about the baby goal celebration, but at least he dedicated that great turn and finish to his new born baby girl called Grace.

Pugh is starting to get the goals along with Ryan Fraser.

Now he has to build on his performances. I always find that Marc is willing to take the ball and make himself available even when the team is going through a tough period. He has been putting in more crosses again of late although most of them seem aimed at little Ryan Fraser in the air and perhaps some lower crosses along the six yard box would bring more success.
One observation that most fans saw at the last game was the switching of wings between Pugh and Fraser before half time. It so often doesn't seem to make any difference in games, but against Millwall Fraser found the perfect opportunity to cut in and score his second goal for the Cherries. Whether Marc is as effective on the right wing I am not so sure, but in this team he may have to be more adaptive if he is to keep his place because teh competition is really coming on strong now. While Marc played most games last season I could see Andrew Surman getting a few starts on the left wing and with Coulibaly and Ritchie possibly coming back soon there will be no shortage of options for Howe on both wings.

Whoever starts on the wings it is important that both wingers are getting on the score sheet and taking players on. AFCB can't expect Lewis Grabban to get all the goals. But this season I have not worried about AFCB's scoring power. The main areas for improvement seem to be at the other end and in keeping the goals out.
