Cherries target looking up the league

The challenge of climbing the Championship is not easy when you have had the run of games AFCB have had in the last few games. Leicester and Burnley at home represent the top two teams and they will soon have to go to Derby County who are now in third. The fixtures could have been kinder even if everyone plays everyone else home and away.

Lee Camp pulls his socks up as AFCB look to do the same in the league. 

February was always going to be a tricky month with such in from teams to play, but AFCB have been acquitting themselves well. Other teams below them have also not been gaining much ground as wins are hard to come by against the best teams in this league.

My pre-season prediction of an place18th finish is not looking so far out but I still believe this team is capable of climbing as high as 12th given a few better breaks in results. There have not been many games this season when AFCB have profited from mistakes from other teams and every point gained has been really hard fought for. I do feel that the addition of Lee Camp is the most important signing that Eddie Howe has made in the last six months as his confidence has added more defensive belief to the team even if the clean sheets are still proving difficult to achieve.

Derby will be stiff opposition.

Once AFCB get through the Derby game, they can look to push on up the league. It may be that the winds of fortune can help them to a win at Derby, but it would be their best win of the season if they can achieve this. It seems that AFCB's best run in terms of performances has coincided with the most difficult fixtures for them but they have to take these performances into the games against teams that currently sit lower in the league than them. If they do that we will all be smiling come 3 May 2014.
