Bafana Bafana could help Rantie and AFCB

It was good to hear that Tokelo Rantie would be in the 23-man squad for South Africa next month when they take on Brazil on 5 March. I imagine he might not see too much of the ball but just being on the pitch with such players has got to help his game and also AFCB.
TK has another chance to gain experience on the international stage.

As the club grows and puts down roots in the Championship it should start to attract more international players and while I don't expect any of our current players to get a trip to Brazil this summer I hope the World Cup inspires them to want to be a part of such competitions in future. We do have a young squad and I believe they get a good grounding at the Cherries to progress to higher levels. It may just be that some of those goals can now be achieved with AFCB.

Eunan O'Kane and Harry Arter cannot be that fare away from international call ups and Sean MacDonald has already seen action for Wales first team squad. But Tokelo has a great opportunity to play against the best players in the world. Such games should give him confidence that he is playing on the big stage and should encourage him to want to play in front of such big crowds more often.

Of course if Tokelo does well than that brings him to the attention of other clubs but such is the football world and I would expect some clubs to start looking at AFCB's players this summer if they do retain their place in the Championship. Who knows, if some players are sold we may bring in some more international players from countries that are perhaps not so well known - AFCB's overseas spy network is certainly growing.
