Comebacks are a hard way to win football games

In the last couple of league matches AFCB have gone about winning them the hard way. Three goals down against Blackburn proved far too much and at one-nil down against Norwich they could easily have buckled with the goal coming so early. That they didn't is testament to the strength of the side and their character, because it can't be easy when you have around 25,000 fans supporting the other team and you concede a goal that is perhaps a bit on the soft side.

You can tell by Simon Francis' reaction on the match highlights that the team knew it could defend better than that with the first attack that Norwich really had in the Cherries' box. Playing themselves more into the game though brought the confidence to keep going and they were determined that what happened at Ewood Park was not going to be repeated at Carrow Road. I am sure that is what is pleasing for Eddie Howe. It's not just that fact that the lads got a point but that they felt the hurt of the Blackburn result and were united in their efforts to ensure they would get something from the Norwich match.

Sitting as the team does now on seven points, they are not far away from those in the play-offs and the next two home games are matches that home supporters can again play their part in to try and secure six points for the Cherries, which would put them back in the to 10 and possibly the play-off spots. The team needs to be in closer proximity to those top places this season and it won't be aided by too many of those early goals in the against column. Having got a point at Norwich though, the next away game should be another test to see if the Cherries can add to the only away win they have so far on the first day of the season.
