Yann is back scoring again

All AFCB fans will have been delighted to have seen Yann Kermorgant back on the score sheet against Wigan having only netted once before this season on the opening day at Huddersfield. The French forward has not been particularly missing chances, but has not seen many chances fall to him. Against Wigan though he drove into the box many times hoping for a goal scoring chance and he put away a difficult header running in behind a strong challenge from a Wigan defender to get his goal in the first half on Saturday.

Yann has a word with Brett before the Wigan match.
While goals in general for AFCB have been hard to come by in terms of more than one a match, the creativity of the team has not diminished and the goals are starting to come again now. Yann Kermorgant's slow start to his goal tally is not disappointing if others are scoring, but it has been hard work for the club's strikers of late and we all hope that this goal gives Yann the boost he needs to contribute more regularly in front of goal. There were plenty of good signs to show this might be the case as Yann had a rasping, curling shot at goal in the first 45 minutes that could have seen AFCB take the lead even sooner. I still believe that Yann is adapting his game to play with Callum Wilson and with Andrew Surman back in the team the  understanding among the front players looks more assured.
Yann Kermorgant may find he is on the bench against
Derby with Callum likely to be the sole striker up front.
It's now up to Yann to keep getting into scoring positions if he is to do better. He has not been at his best and will know that other strikers are ready to challenge for his place. Eddie Howe certainly back him and Callum though stating: "I struggle to see a better two strikers in the division - at their very best". I think the potential is there, but we need to see the partnership really click into gear now.
