All goes well for Captain Cook

It was great to hear that Steve Cook was getting another chance to lead the side out in the FA Cup. Tommy Elphick has done the job well and is rightly the usual captain, but by passing the honour to Steve for the Rotherham game was a clever move I felt, because it shows how much AFCB value Cookie and how they want to progress with him at the club.
Steve Cook was on captain duties at Rotherham.
All is quiet on the transfer front at the moment and with regards to Steve Cook that is how AFCB fans want the situation to stay. Against Rotherham Cook played on the right side of Baily Cargill which is rather unusual for us fans to see, but Cook seems happy playing in either position at centre back and if he builds a good understanding with Baily that will be good for the team when Tommy Elphick has any injuries.
Baily Cargill again looked at home in the Bournemouth starting eleven.
Willo commented that what AFCB lack when Tommy Elphick is out of the team is organisation especially when defending set-pieces. It is something that Steve Cook will be looking to add to his game and as he develops more leadership skills I expect that his qualities in this area will improve.

There were a few other strong team players that could have been given the captaincy for the FA Cup game such as Ian Harte or Shaun MacDonald, but Eddie Howe sees that there is ability and trust in Steve Cook. He never lets the club down and I imagine Steve looks back on any game that the team wins when he is captain with great pride.
