Shaun MacDonald and Ryan Fraser impress

Kris Temple reminded listeners on BBC Radio Solent that it was back in September 2012 in a match against Portsmouth that Shaun MacDonald last scored for the Cherries. Saturday's goal for him was his first FA Cup goal and another player who will have been pleased to get an FA Cup goal was Ryan Fraser who has also been out of the side for a little while.
Ryan showed that he is still a great  option at Rotherham.
It's good to see Macca back in business.
I suggested that Shaun might not get a game if he was really set on having a loan move in this transferwindow, but Eddie Howe was happy enough to let Shaun start the match and I expect he was extremely pleased for him when he scored. It has not been a strong part of Shaun's game but he played in the most forward role in midfield, and pushed on past Yann Kermorgant at times when breaking into the box. It is not surprising then that a chance did indeed fall to him, and to see him put away his chance was just what the team needed before half time.

I have been more surprised that Ryan Fraser has not started more games this season. It shows just how well Marc Pugh has been playing. Ryan rarely disappoints though and he came up with the goods again against Rotherham. Whether that means that Ryan will start to get more substitute appearances in the second half of games remains to be seen, but I think he has been a bit unfortunate this season not to play a bigger part for the first team.

If you missed it - last night the draw for the FA Cup Fourth Round lined up AFCB away against Premier League opposition Aston Villa. See our pole that asks, should Eddie play his strongest side?
