Centre midfielders can be game winners for AFCB

To some extent the removal of Harry Arter from AFCB's team presents a really good opportunity to find some match winners that can help the side with more goals from central midfield. Harry has done okay this season and went on a good run of goals over December and has six goals to his name, but the goals for him had started to dry up of late.

For all of AFCB's goals this season, the central midfield area is not an area of the pitch  that has been laden with goals for the Cherries. Andrew Surman has only scored twice and while Arter and Surman have some five assists between them, there is room for improvement going forward from the central pairing from an offensive point of view. While Arter did have some shots against Huddersfield in AFCB's last match it was just the one shot late on in the game that he really caught well. Surman seems even less likely to pull the trigger of late, but now he may have to start ensuring that he gets into shooting positions and ups his goal count.

Harry's two game rest could even benefit Arter at AFCB.

By taking out Harry Arter from the team you can see what a big miss he can be. It is always known that suspensions and injuries will be key at this stage of the season and the Cherries' good run is now under pressure. The strength of the squad is now being tested.

Now we find out how good the scouting system is at AFCB and if they can come up with a player who can add goals from central midfield and will fit well into the system that the Cherries play. It could be the most important player that AFCB hire this season if they do indeed dip into the loan market.

There was a good result last night for AFCB with Rotherham holding Derby to a 3-3 draw to keep the Cherries top and may be Birmingham can also do the Cherries a favour tonight against Middlesbrough. I also saw that ex-Cherry Jason Pearce got his first Wigan goal on his debut and an important win for them over Reading.
