Adam Smith gave the desired impact to the team

I believe that Adam Smith will have been very happy with his work in the Brighton match. So often we have seen players come on in the final half hour and feel that they have to do themselves and the team justice and that can be a hard thing to do. But Bournemouth's players seem to thrive on the moment and just playing in this team excites all the players that are in the squad.

Adam is one of those players that has never had a good run in the team and yet he seems very much apart of the Eddie Howe movement to blend in payers when required and just to slightly alter the dynamics of how the team is playing. Smith is quicker than many fans think and when he does go forward with the ball he adds energy into the team. We also see it with Ryan Fraser and Eunan O'Kane on occasion and Eddie seems to just know how and when to use these players to tinker with what is already a good AFCB side.

Adam Smith could well get a start at Reading after his performance at Brighton.

It is as much about Eddie's sensible management of the players which I believe has improved over recent years as it is about the individual following precise instructions of what they are being advised to do when they come on. Players can feel a little more relaxed when they start games in that they probably have time to make an impression, but as a sub it has to be the selection of top gear right from the start - thank goodness we don't have a player called Clarkson - that could have been a car crash!

Instead we have players that come on and drive the team forward. Installing purpose and urgency into AFCB's play is something that Eddie Howe has seen works well for him and I don't see him changing that even if Bournemouth are playing in the Premier League next season.
