Eddie still pleased with AFCB performance

There were some strong points to the Cherries game against Aston Villa. We saw that the Cherries did take the game to the opposition and they probably had the better of the minimal chances up to half time. Artur Boruc was not very busy and it did look like a draw was the most probable outcome, even a fair way into the second half. We don't really know how good Villa or AFCB are yet. Villa changed a lots of players and AFCB lost out to a team that is not the same as the one that finished 17th in the Premier League last season.

Eddie Howe did not think that the Cherries got the result they
deserved for their performance against Aston Villa. 

Whether Villa had improved or not is something that Tim Sherwood will know more than most, but the feeling we got from Eddie Howe is that the Cherries did themselves proud, "I thought our performance on many levels was good. We were excellent, especially first half and created numerous chances and we can't be too disappointed in how we played but we can be disappointed in the goal we conceded and that we did not take our chances.

"I couldn't be critical in any way of how played in the first half," he added. But ... "we were guilty of missing some good opportunities."

For Eddie it's a case of moving forward and trying to get better. Indeed, it is good that the first game is out of the way and perhaps some of the hype about the Cherries will just drop a bit to a level where it is easier for the players to concentrate on the football better. The attitude was good on the day and the team set out with the right intent. They have sampled the Premier League and will be stronger for the experience and more determined than ever to try and come away with a result at Anfield now.

It was a good show at Dean Court, but AFCB fans can't wait for a first win.
