Rantie is of interest to Cardiff City

He's the player that AFCB fans want to do well more than most. He always has a smile on his face. He gives 100 per cent and he has been the striker that was on the club's books who has always had the potential to be a superstar - but  is Rantie about to miss out on his Premier League chance?

That may depend on Russell Slade at Cardiff City who is said to be weighing up a loan move for the South African striker, according to Wales Online. This also adds weight to the belief that AFCB will have to bring in another striker, perhaps Glenn Murray, this week.

Tokelo has been virtually in an airport waiting lounge for the last two years since his signing from Malmo FC, sitting and waiting for his chance to repay the faith that Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall have put in him but never really making it to the runway. Apart from his international trips to play for South Africa and rare opportunities to fly home, Rantie has been looking for something more to help him settle at AFCB, and now that he has started a family and can see an exciting future he is fully ready to burst onto the Premier League scene - only he may find that he is allowed to go out on loan, so that AFCB can bring in another striker.

We have only seen glimpses of the sparkling talent that TK surely has. Yet in this pre-season he has come more into consideration with his eagerness to impress and his sharpness in front of goal. Now more than ever he can see his dreams about to be fulfilled and you have to give Eddie Howe a lot of credit for sticking by TK and giving him the belief and time to grow into a more formidable striker. TK may not have been favourite to start games in this season ahead of Wilson or King, but he could have a part to play if he does not go out on loan. The aim was always to play Rantie on the big stage and to be the star striker that defences struggled to keep pace with. Now Rantie has the platform - it may be that he has to write headlines in the Championship this coming season..

Rantie may play his football in Cardiff next season.

Having seen what he has done in pre-season at first hand on Friday, Russell Slade will probably have been impressed by what he has seen. Cardiff City need a striker to replace Adam Le Fondre who is expected to leave the Welsh club. Eddie saw something special in TK and the matches against Philadelphia and Cardiff City have shown that the South African marksman is in razor sharp form. It has perhaps put him in the window.
