We're on the board!

There may not be lots of days as beautiful as the one that AFCB fans enjoyed at Upton Park last weekend. It was not just the sun shining on those blue blended shirts that had us all smiling it was the intent of the players to go and get those first three points for the club having had a couple of unfortunate results that had not really done justice to how well the team had been playing.

Great team spirit got AFCB through this game.

I hope there are of course lots more days that are as great for the Cherries and under Eddie Howe I don't see why there can't be, but getting the first points in the Premier League was always going to be a special day. It takes the pressure off a little and stops the questions of when the points are going to start coming and whether the team can score enough goals at this level. If the team can score four away from home then it can sure do some damage to other teams this season, and there is perhaps now a period when the media starts looking more closely at why AFCB are such a good team and can beat the big names in the game rather than just expecting them to put up a plucky performance but to come up short.

There are things that Eddie will have to consider after the West Ham win. Why did the team come unstuck at the start of the second half and why was Miaga allowed to carve his way through the centre of defence with such ease for West Ham's third goal? The back four that had looked so solid in the first two matches suddenly didn't look so in control in the second half at Upton Park. It was a hot day and concentrations may have wilted a little but stemming the West Ham comeback was certainly a test that saw Marc Pugh, Dan Gosling and Adam Smith introduced in the second half.

While Callum Wilson will enjoy his own major achievement of his first Premier League hat-trick in only his third game at this level, he'll now have to look at why he was able to score with such freedom in this game. Gone was the hesitancy of the Villa match and yet the expectancy to score was perhaps no less pressurised than in the first two games for the ex-Coventry man.
