Not the start Federici would have wanted

Why is this happening to us? That is the question that I started to wonder about four weeks ago when the injuries started to pile up and since then we have heard that Tommy Elphick is on the long term injury list and now Artur Boruc has a problem with a pain in his thigh. The timing of Artur's injury was particularly cruel on Saturday as it left Adam Federici with little time to prepare his thoughts ahead of facing one of the best strikeforces in the Premier League.

Adam has to be confident going into games so he'll
need to have a good week in training. 

Federici must have been extremely excited that he had got his chance on such a big stage. It will have been his biggest game since the FA Cup semi-final for Arsenal last season. Stepping on to that pitch must have been fabulous for him as he could be the hero that AFCB fans wanted if he could keep a clean sheet. While it did not go well for him at key moments he did make several outstanding saves, which I think is what Eddie Howe always saw in him as a keeper when he wanted to bring him to Dean Court. He has courage and is excellent at pulling off the most unlikely of saves.

We know he made mistakes though. The handling spill from the cross for the second goal was alack of concentraion I should think and his misunderstanding with Andrew Surman for Man City's fourth goal killed the game with City on half time. But if Boruc is not able to return to the team immediately then Adam has to get some confidence behind him quickly. This is what he came to Bournemouth for - to play in top matches. Now his time has come and he has to do betetr than he did on Saturday.
