AFCB know the importance of the next two games

With two consecutive games against bottom six clubs, the importance of the first match against Norwich will be very clear in Eddie Howe's and the player's' minds. They can't afford slip ups and need to keep in touch with those teams that are starting to get a gap on the bottom teams.

Facing Norwich should not be made into a bigger game than it is though. The Cherries need to believe they can win but Eddie Howe will be asking his players to concentrate on their own game and will hope to see them getting that lead this time and holding on to it. Many of the players have said that they did not perform well enough in midweek and they are the ones who have to put that right. In a way I think it is good that the players have another game so soon after the West Ham defeat. They can't get sucked into thinking they are on a bad run because the matches they have played since the start of December have been excellent when taken as a whole.

Marc Pugh - should he start against Norwich?
The problem is that nobody stays still in the league and while AFCB have slowed in their points total others are catching them. Now the pressure is on and the importance of back to back wins is huge at this stage, especially when two of the closest teams around you are involved. The feel good factor of the new signings has diminished a bit after midweek, and yet the team has another chance to change the whole outlook of their season if they can get the next six points that are on offer.

Eddie of course has to pick the best side he thinks can win the game and therefore he'll want to take as much risk out of this game as he can. I don't see a starting spot for Juan Itube after his first outing and while he might like to play Lewis Grabban from the start I expect him to hold him up his sleeve for the second half. I do see Marc Pugh getting a start though as he is just the kind of competitor who usually thrives when coming back into the team.
