Wiggins move completed and Allsop on loan to Wycombe

The transfer deadline day may not have been overly busy for AFCB, but the re-signing of Rhoys Wiggins is an intriguing one. Eddie Howe has a good memory and knows exactly what he is getting with Rhoys. The Welshman is already saying the right things to try and appease disgruntled fans who did not want to see him wear the red and black again, and I guess fans should realise that sometimes that football is business first of all.

I am more drawn to the fact though that Eddie believes Rhoys can be a good signing for the Premier League. It will be a step up for him like it was for most of AFCB's players and the manager is putting a lot of faith in Rhoys and his ability to surprise people. I like to think that Eddie is in someway rewarding a player he knows well and was an important player in the early year's of Eddie Howe's managerial career. AFCB need left back cover and at least Rhoys will know many of the systems that the Cherries play.

I think it is a brave decision also be Rhoys and I hope he does really well and fits in, because the Cherries need everyone pulling in the same direction. The fee of £200,000  makes a change from the millions being spent and to have the security of a left back that will be eager to be a part of Bournemouth's Premier League season and beyond – it's a two-and-a-half-year deal – is reassuring when the club has had so many injuries.

One player who has been allowed to go out on loan today though is Ryan Allsop, who has gone to Wycombe Wanderers until the end of the season. It will be good for Rocky to get some games as he has not really had much taste of first team football, except a few minutes against Everton.

Meanwhile, Alessandro Cannataro and Tomas Andrade have also had their contracts terminated by mutual consent. Andrade returns to his parent club River Plate.
