Jordan Ibe has the style that will slip in effortlessly at AFCB

It was all kicking off yesterday with transfer news going rife at AFCB. The huge negotiations though were for Jordan Ibe who was the subject of a £15m accepted bid with Liverpool keen to negotiate buy-back and sell on deals for the winger. Somehow I reckon Liverpool have learnt a lesson from buying Adam Lallana and won't to make sure they get every penny they can for a player they have developed.

For AFCB it is quite something to smash the club's record transfer by £5m and it is a sign of the times that the Cherries can now go any buy players off the likes of Liverpool with their new wealth. Jordan Ibe is well known to Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall. Jordan played much of the 2013-14 season on loan at Birmingham City when AFCB came up against him and even last season Ibe played against Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup up at Anfield and he also played 70 minutes of the league game at Anfield against the Cherries. But it was perhaps the game at Dean Court in the Premier League that really grabbed Howe's attention when Ibe played for 78 minutes in a young Liverpool team that quickly too the game away from the Cherries.

While Ibe has played in the Europa League and has scored his first goal last season in the Premier League he has found it difficult to break into Jurgen Klopp's side. What I like about Ibe though is that he has been trained in the Liverpool style and yet has also gained experience in the lower leagues at Birmingham and Derby. He is less of a risk than some of the foreign signings who are not used to English conditions and he will add yet more pace to AFCB's attack. He certainly has something to prove as well and could become a star man at a club like AFCB where he has room to grow and develop. Already an England U21 player, this is another very exciting transfer that the Cherries are expected to conclude this week.

Hopefully fans don't label him simply a Ritchie replacement as he will offer experience, speed and hopefully cunning skill on the wing. I'm already looking forward to watching him.

Transfer News
Leeds' Lewis Cook has signed a 4-year deal at AFCB - more tomorrow

Joe Quigley has also gone on loan to League One Gillingham until January 2017.
Georges-Kevin Nkoudou of Marseilles had also been bid for by AFCB, reports Get the French Football News.

  1. Might it be a case of too many Cooks!

Whether Ibe will come or not remains to be seen....it seems a pity that all Bournemouth business is leaked in newspapers so that the transfers can be hijacked...

All transfers and transfers targets are all 21 and under...laudible it may be to have a Bournemouth Babes squad are any of these players going to be regulars in the first team and have an immediate impact...yes there is need for a strong squad...but is there not need for some experience particularly if things get tough...the first four teams that we meet at the start of the season Bournemouth won last year....anybody betting we will be 12 points after first four games.....

There is a saying the more things change...the more they stay the same....now who is going to conjecture the starting line up against Man Utd ...or how many of the signings will be in a starting place....maybe Ake if Smith is still injured..but I would wager not one of them...

The transfers last season other than King was a disaster...they have all been shipped out...other than King who improved..Mings ...still to see..and Gradel who played a handful of games...Afobe will be warming the bench next season...and suspect will go in January transfer window...

I see we have allegedly bid for yet another winger from Marseilles...how many wingers do we need...what about a defender??
