Watford and Bournemouth serve up a thrilling 2-2 draw

Match Description
Watford 2 v 2 AFCB
1 October 2016
Attendance: 20,575

This game had everything and was AFCB's most entertaining match of the season, twice going ahead through Wilson and King but being pegged back by goals from Troy Deeney and Isaac Success. While AFCB had been struggling for goals, they could have had four or five from this game, and while they conceded a couple of goals the form of Artur Boruc remains sensational. AFCB will be the happier of the two sides perhaps being an away point, but both sides look strong enough to work their way further up the table in the next few weeks after the international break.

There was no change to AFCB's starting line up following the win against Everton. Josh King made it back on to the bench though. Adam Smith was also cleared to lay and without a mask after his nose injury in the last match.

Watford brought in Zuniga and Kaboul into their back four as there were injuries to Craig Cathcart and Miguel Britos.

Vicarage Road.
AFCB played in their away blue kit.

Match Description - watching live stream
Watford took the kick off and Ighalo dragged the first shot wide on the minute mark. AFCB begun to get their passing game going, but Arter over hit his pass to Wilson who was offside.

Simon Francis and Adam Smith had to make deep headers in AFCB's box before Daniels found touch, as Watford come forward. AFCB are having to play on the break. Adam Smith and then Steve Cook then make successive blocks on the edge of the box from Ighalo and then Deeney.

AFCB are soaking up the pressure. Adam Smith manages to get a foul though from Capoue and some of the pressure i finally released. AFCB fans are doing their best to raise the side's game. Arter was getting more touches as AFCB rose to the task. Jack Wilshire makes a good clattering challenge in the middle of the park.

Prödl receives a yellow card on the edge of the box for a foul on Wilson, although the arm barge seemed to come from Wilson. Stanislas goes for goal from the free kick and Gomes pushes it over the bar for a corner. A rising shot from Arter goes into the stands.

Andrew Surman is making his early long passes ,but things are not coming off for him just yet. AFCB ae working hard to keep Watford out. Amrabat is playing well on Watford's right, but Jordan Ibe is having problems getting past Zuniga.

Wilshire picks up a card for a foul in Zuniga as the Watford player runs back towards half way. Steve Cook comes out playing from the back with great pace and finds Daniels although his cross comes to nothing. Daniels and Ibe are doubling up on Amrabat now.

Holebas has a shot but its dragged well wide.

Meanwhile, Wilson and Prodl are at each other again. Zuniga is next to be fouled by Wilson. Wilshire and Ibe are string on the break but Arter can't quite find Adam Smith's run. Arter is then straight in on Amrabat and wins a free kick. The tide is turning here.

Francis finds Ibe with a great ball and the cross is smothered by Gomes. Capoue then wins a free kick off Adam Smith. The ball is held up by Deeney and a long shot from Prödl is blocked.

Pereyra then brings down Wilshire. Capoue also fouls and AFCB have a good position for a free kick.

Smith gets blocked off on the right, but Stanislas picks it up and puts in an early cross - Wilson!!!! heads in at the near post under Gomes -0-1to the Cherries!!! 31 minutes gone.

Deeney is now closed down as soon as he gets into the box. AFCB are springing on the break with Wilson and Stanislas and its kept out by Prödl for a corner. Arter picks up a free kick.

Good pressure from Watford but Deeney and Ighalo just can't get a shot away before being smothered by AFCB defenders. AFCB are starting to boss the game.

AFCB look so dangerous on the break. Wilshire should have put Wilson in, but the ball has to go wide to Ibe. The Cherries are also quick to get back in numbers and keep Watford at bay.

Holebas is fouled by Smith but play goes on and Amrabat shoots, Boruc saves and again! It's out for a corner. Great double save by the big Pole. Adam Smith is booked for his earlier challenge on Holebas. Junior Stanislas heads away the corner.

Wilson robs Prödl and drifts back into the box! Surman!! Blasts it over the bar. Unselfish from Wilson. He created something out of nothing. Surman's effort was pitiful though. Gomes should have been worked there.

Francis now is yellow carded for a lunge on Capoue. AFCB must defend this well. Driven low and Arter clears. The ball is cleared again by Cook and Amrabat heads it back and Kabul! Boruc makes the save.
Josh King made an impact second half.

AFCB's last away clean sheet was at Vicarage road last February - can AFCB repeat that? Holebas wins a free kick and Prödl heads wide from distance.

Amrabat gets Daniels on the back foot and Watford have a corner. Prödl gets the flick on and Deeney tries to improvise with a heel kick, while diving forwards, but it's well over. AFCB need to get a grip.

A quick throw and Amrabat is round Daniels and Deney is there to finish 1-1!! AFCB just have not started well this second half and it's all square.

Isaac Success replaces Igahlo on 58 minutes. Amrabat takes on Ibe and gets the cross in. Deeney wins the header and Boruc makes an amazing save! It was low to his right. Francis was well beaten in the air, but his keeper has saved him and the team.

Josh King comes on for Jordan Ibe in the 61st minute. King's first touch, wins the ball. He's going towards goal, beats Holebas, Behrami tries to get to him but King shoots and it's gets a deflection and beats Gomes! 1-2 to Bournemouth. Super sub Josh King puts the Cherries ahead!

Watford with a free kick on the left. Holebas takes and Success heads it in front of Surman and it's 2-2!! Watford were only behind for about a minute!! Both subs have scored. AFCB just don't defend well from free kicks into the box!

Amrabat down the right and Pereyra crosses from the byline. Deeney fouls the arm of Boruc and it's no goal despite Deeney's great effort. Great game for the neutral. Pereya gets a cross in and Success can't quite get to it with his head.

Corner now to Watford. AFCB a beautiful flowing counter move. Smith and Wilson shoots, corner. Cook could not get enough on it. Great chasing back by Daniels. Smith crosses  – and Wiltshire misses from eight yards off the post and it's a chances that's gone! What a chance.

Arter is in to win the ball again for AFCB. Smith is brought down right on the edge of the box by Prödl. Stanislas and Surman stand over it. Under the wall? No Stanislas hits the bar with a right foot curler - Gomes gets nowhere near it!

Four minutes of stoppage time to be played. Surman heads the ball away at the near post. Deeney goes over but gets nothing. Stanislas and King almost conjure up a winning move, but Watford get back. Cook with a long throw. Watford clear. It's al over 2-2.

Summary
A magical match where both sides only had eyes for a win and the second half in particular was end to end, with the Cherries coming so close to winning it. Watford have found player in Isaac Success, but AFCB's Josh King was also on great form. Jack Wilshire will rue his  second half miss, but Callum Wilson was back to his best. If this is the way AFCB are going to play the rest of the season they will be the most entertaining side to watch. It was gripping stuff! Hats off to Watford too - they made a very hard game of it for AFCB. Up to 12th in the table - we'll take that.
