Lewis Cook's work begins now

This Saturday could well see Lewis Cook gain some more minutes to his opening Premier League debut that he made against Man Utd back in August. Some may have felt that he would have got a run out against Millwall in the cup, but he has been kept back and he'll no doubt be hoping that he can get in the squad to face Watford this weekend.

Lewis Cook can make himself a regular in the side now.
With the way the team has been performing of late there is nothing to say that Lewis couldn't even force his way into the starting line up. Eddie doesn't often make many changes to the spine of the team, but the poor results are starting to mount up and I don't think any of the players could really complain if they found themselves dropped on Saturday.

For Lewis though, there is still time for him to push his case this season I expect hi to be in the subs for the Watford game and I would love him to get some time to pay in the second half. Goals from central midfield just haven't materialsed this season to any great degree and Lewis cold be a new element to AFCB's play that bring rewards. It's not just the goals, but the work rate and energy that a fully-fit Lewis Cook would bring to the side. Against Hull City, both Arter and Surman couldn't pick up the pace and that is no discredit to them as they have played a lot of games.

I believe the wait for Lewis Cook is coming to an end. Having turned out against Gosport Borough, it's clear that Eddie wants him up to full speed very quickly now and the game against Watford could just be the game when he finds himself back in a first team shirt.
