Every one knows who Josh King is now

Josh King is getting called out by the pundits every week as he continues his goal run which is now up to 15. While the need for goal scorers at this level is a big requirement by all the clubs, it's the top six that splash the cash when they see a bright young prospect and with King demonstrating already that he has what it takes to score against any team in the Premier League, he will be hot property this summer. Can AFCB keep him?
Josh is getting a lot of attention in the press with his great scoring run.
It will largely be down to Josh King and his relationship with Eddie Howe and AFCB as to whether he decides that this is either the time or not the time to move on if a big club comes calling. It must be difficult for players in that situation if they have a true affinity with their club, as I believe King has at Bournemouth. It is a risk to move on and yet the benefits financially and in terms of honours are massive, and you can't blame a player for looking out for his and his family's future.

AFCB do have a wealth of strikers at the club in Callum Wilson, Benik Afobe, Lys Mousset and Lewis Grabban, and while it has not been AFCB's plan to sell in recent seasons they may well lose one of their star players over the summer. The trick is to invest the money from the sale wisely if it happens. I don't think anyone will want Josh King to leave this summer, and I'm sure AFCB will do their best to keep him but he is firmly on the radar of clubs now.

It's not just King's finishing that is impressive though. He is usually involved in the build up of goals and his robust way of retaining possession is something that is to be admired and his tenacity in not giving up on lost causes has been a great attribute. Can you imagine AFCB without Josh King? It's not a prospect that I  look forward to, but AFCB will have a fight on their hands this summer to keep hold of him.

  1. It all depends how much.....it would be hard to turn down say £25/£30m
and would make up for some terrible transfer decisions..Ibe/Smith etc

I am not so sure we have such a wealth of forward talent..Grabban hardly does anything at Reading...Callum Wilson...who knows how much his injuries will affect him.....that leaves Afobe and Moussett....

So who to bring in a replacement..well Defoe for sure and maybe promoting Surridge.....

The team is coming towards the changing of the guard...we have a number of players over 30 and they are coming towards the sunset of their careers...

    Boruc
    Daniels
    Pugh
    Francis
    Surman

If we can finish 10-12th this season and cut the goals conceded by 25 next season and score the same....well wow..what would that do to our league position

    Well its great to think

    1. Alan I feel like you're overly optimistic. If we cut out goals conceded by 25 you're basically comparing us with champions league spots (only 4 teams have conceded less than us - 25)
