Great to see AFCB's player of the season awards spread around

For most seasons there will be a clear favourite to pick up the top player awards at the club, but this season there were several leading candidates. Artur Boruc won the main AFCB supporters award for his magnificent displays in goal, while Josh King was the Junior Cherries' choice with his goal haul and Steve Cook picked up three trophies with he Echo's Micky Cave trophy, The Vice-Presidents award and the Exiles' trophy.
Josh King was a hit with the Junior Cherries.
To have three players picking up the merits was an indication that AFCB are playing very good team football. I think the performances of Ryan Fraser, Charlie Daniels, Adam Smith and Harry Arter can't have been too far behind some of the winners, but the trophies have those who have excelled the most and I can't argue how well the winners have done.

Steve Cook had his hands full.
I am particularly pleased for Steve Cook who has had to take on a season without his good friend Tommy Elphick and having to play with a number of centre-backs, while keeping his own form on track. Cook may have most respect for Simon Francis, who he has played most games with at the back this season, but I wonder how much he enjoyed playing with Nathan Aké who did not seem overly ecstatic when Chelsea were celebrating the Premier League title last week - perhaps we will see Nathan back at Dean Court next season. Tyrone Mings will certainly hope to play more games next season and so Steve Cook will have some competition for his place again.
Atrur Boruc walked off with the main supporters' award.

I don't see Steve Cook wanting a move away from the club, even if he has a few clubs who are said to be interested. He really kicked on his season after the away game at Arsenal when he made a mistake for the Gunner's first goal. Artur Boruc will also find himself under some pressure next season if Asmir Begovic signs for AFCB this summer. Whether Boruc can stay as number one we will have to see, but he has every chance of starting there having now won a significant endorsement from the fans.

The player the side does not want to lose is Josh King. Now he is in the big list for strikers and it has been his hard work that has got him there. If the Cherries can keep him and get Callum Wilson back to his best, there could be better things to come for AFCB in 2017/18.
