What would a win at Stoke do for AFCB?

The season is well underway and Bournemouth fans have been looking up the table rather more often than they would like to. One win in eight games was not what anyone expected but we have to deal with the situation as it is. The players can only try and win the next game, but would a win be the magic medicine to put AFCB back on the right trajectory?

You'd have to think so, although AFCB could win one game and still then go on a barren run. It's really a matter of not wanting to lose touch with teams so early in the season and there is a real danger that AFCB could be marooned before too long. I don't want to get down about AFCB's prospects, but a win now against Stoke City is kind of something to cling on to.

While any game is only worth three points, a win at Stoke would be huge because firstly it is an away game and AFCB haven't picked up anything away from Dean Court. It would close the gap on Stoke and others on eight points. It would raise the morale of the players and fans ahead of another big fixture against Chelsea, but more than anything else I think Eddie Howe needs the lift himself and it would be a huge hit of adrenaline for him which will give him a fresh view on the season ahead.

It's shaping up to be a relegation battle at the moment. We can't hide that as the games continue to click by, but if AFCB can stick close to the teams just above the relegation zone, it is more than likely that a few of those teams will hit bad spells and that AFCB could take advantage of that if they can stay close.

So a win at Stoke would be good medicine and just what the doctor ordered. Moreover, AFCB have to think positively that they are going to get the win. They don't need to entertain the thought of anything else if they really want those points.
