What would Defoe give to score against Spurs?

Jermain Defoe has just seen 17 minutes of action since his return to fitness which was against Newcastle United. he was an unused sub up at Leicester and yet he will be a player that has more desire than most to want to get a game against Spurs, one of his former clubs.
Defoe made 278 appearances for Spurs scoring 91 goals in
two major period with the north London club and two games on loan.
Bournemouth need to have a very good game plan for Spurs and while Jermain has scored plenty of goals for them in his time, he would be fired up to get a crack at beating Hugo Loris. Eddie Howe will certainly have it in his mind that Defoe would be extremely keen to feature in this match, but he has not been quick to pull players out of the team of late and while Callum Wilson might be getting frustrated at not scoring against Newcastle or Leicester his work rate has been adequate and Howe knows that Wilson is currently AFCB's top scorer.

Jermain has to improve his minutes on the pitch and perhaps his overall team play if he is to force his way back into the starting line up. I had thought that he might have been given a few minutes at Leicester when Callum was spent, but even at the end it was Mousset that got the signal to play the added time minutes instead of Defoe.

The game against Spurs though is a match where Bournemouth are probably better going at Spurs full out. If they try and defend for 90 minutes, I can only see trouble. If Howe tries to be attacking all match though there would be a good chance of Defoe getting a chance to play. I don't think Spurs can be managed and contained easily, instead it is better to try and take the initiative away from them completely by getting ahead and looking to build on that. If the Cherries are two or three behind you might expect a goalscorer to be thrown on but Howe may also have one eye on AFCB's goal difference which is starting to become more important as the games run out.

Defoe is not a risk though. You know what yo get when Defoe is on the pitch and has a sight of goal. He is not going to look for assists, he's going to go for goal himself and sometimes AFCB could do with a bit of more how shall we call it selfish shooting? I prefer to call him a confident finisher.
