AFCB's Player Awards Evening beams around the world

I tuned in to the AFCB Player Awards Evening on Sunday, sponsored by Strategic Solutions and Westover Group, to see how the club would have viewed the season. I finally managed to get a link just before 9am and there was plenty of glitz on show.
Nathan shared the stage with a few other award winners for a change.
We were shown a few clips of why we had all voted Nathan Ake player of the season. Tyrone Mings had a few words to say on not doing much but relax during his time getting over his injury. He picked up the Community player award.

Young player of the year was Nnamdi Ofoborh who has been training with the first team. The AFCB Ladies player of the season was Chloe Tape. The John Harriss Unsung Hero award was presented by Eddie Howe. Kris Temple interviewed him first who said the first team have really had to improve and that it can't always be measured in points. Eddie Howe mentioned a few unsung heroes like Chairman Geoff Mostyn, but the award went to Bob Miles for his behind the scenes work in helping out voluntarily.

The U21 player of the season went to keeper Mark Travers. The supporters player of the season was presented by Simon Francis and it's no surprise that Nathan Ake was the winner. Simon Francis spoke about how it was a relief to get to safety this season. The start of the season, he said, was particularly hard.

The goal of the season was voted on by the people at the event and it was presented by assistant manager Jason Tindall. JD said we put ourselves under pressure with the three defeats and it was great to get over the line. Daniels (Man City), King (Everton), Surman (Stoke) and  Defoe (C Palace, Adam Smith (Newcastle), Stanislas (WBA) made the short list, but Charlie Daniels took the award for his goal against Man City. he said Jermain's goal was amazing and Stanislas' goal against WBA was really important for the three points at the time.

The final award was the players' player of the year and Josh King presented the award to Nathan Ake. Ake has been amazing every day said King even buying chewing gum! Asked about Eddie Howe Ake said he is right at the top. Commenting on his team mates he just said it has been fun, there are some funny people in the squad. It is such a tight team and it helps on the pitch.
