AFCB could be without Gosling's energy in Huddersfield match

Eddie Howe made it clear that Dan Gosling was close to being involved in the match at Man City, but is now a doubt for the Huddersfield match. In the end he didn't feel right in the warm up and sat the game out on the bench. The games are coming fast now and tonight there is another game. While Jefferson Lerma will be available again, it is also possible that Eddie had planned for Gosling to return for this game but it may not be possible now.
Dan Gosling has had a scan on his knee following problems in the warm up at the Etihad.
The fact that Bournemouth have not won in four games gives Eddie Howe an opportunity to change things a little to try and give the team some new energy with players that have not been involved getting an opportunity. Dan Gosling is always full of running and against a team like Huddersfield who are a hard working team. Gosling's fight in the middle along with Lerma could be the best formula for Bournemouth to set a high-tempo. But Gosling has had to have another scan on his knee which puts fresh concerns on him being involved.

The game against Man City will have been energy sapping for Andrew Surman and Lewis Cook. They did okay against a dominant Man City team, but Bournemouth will only have three days to prepare for Huddersfield, and when they have a couple of central midfielders that have not gone through the mill against City that are ready to play, it makes sense to give them a run out.

Managing the number of games now is really important in December with so many matches. The side may look unfamiliar at times as we have already seen with Tyrone Mings claiming his first start, but it is the engine room of central midfield where the most running will be done. If Gosling can't make it then Lewis Cook may have to play three matches in eight days.
