A bizarre game but only one point for AFCB

Eddie Howe was at odds to find words to describe the goal frenzy at Dean Court on Wednesday night. It could have been a very bad night in terms of a score line and to make a comeback within six minutes by scoring three goals is enough to leave anyone speechless.

Bournemouth fought back well after some defensive frailties.

The defending is still a dangerous occupation for Bournemouth players. There was very little correct decisions made when Watford attacked in the first half, but even more frustrating was the way in which Bournemouth gave the ball away when they just had to make 10 yard passes. The basics seemed to desert the players at times, and yet they mustered an amazing comeback when most teams would have been tearing their hair out at the kind of goals they were conceding. 

In the end, AFCB fans should be disappointed that they only got a point against Watford. Bournemouth dominated the second half and worked Ben Foster very hard, while Watford were extremely lucky to have 11 men still on the pitch. Had Doucouré seen red for his challenge on Fraser, Bournemouth would have probably had too much for the Hornets. But Watford kept their heads well enough not to play the game out with 10 men.

A point will at least keep AFCB's total moving forward and with other teams picking up points it is important that Bournemouth got back to having a performance that left the crowd proud of their team. The feeling would have been very different had Bournemouth lost this game, but now it is just a matter of getting the injured players fixed as soon as possible, ready to go again after the FA Cup.
