We only saw a first half of football and a few second half minutes of Dominic Solanke against Cardiff. He was making a lot of runs but he didn't seem to get picked up by the Bournemouth forward balls. It's early days, but the Match of the Day pundits might have been right when they said he could have been trying too hard to impress.
But is it expecting too much for Solanke to hit the ground running? He has hardly played any Premier League football, or football above U21 level and in his second game he gets to go back to Anfield. The pressure on him will be immense as he will want to do well, but if he can just do the simple things right and take a moment to try and find space in key areas he might really be able to get his Bournemouth career off to a flyer. He may not understand all the AFCB moves yet, but if he just thinks of where he can position himself to get an advantage when the ball does come to him then he could well get a dream goal in front of the Kop. He has to see himself doing something like that though to play well in this game I feel.
There will be no place to hide at Anfield and he has to separate what is going on in the minds of the fans and just do his job to the best of his ability.

Bournemouth did take time to build up their partnerships and learn what the player next to them is likely to do in any given situation. Solanke is fresh into this at AFCB and it's not second nature to some players who arrive at Dean Court. The exceptions this season have been David Brooks, who has an amazing football intelligence and perhaps Nathaniel Clyne, who has slipped in at right back as if he could have been playing there for a few seasons for AFCB.
