Top six win is just the ticket for Bournemouth

Bournemouth needed something to kick on. The season had come to a sudden halt with the cup exit and no win against a top six team. Now they have the Chelsea win under their belt and can take a lot of comfort for the margin of the victory.

Bournemouth look to get three wins in a row now.
Taking on Chelsea is never going to be an easy game. They came to take all three points and were in the ascendancy for much of the first half. But Bournemouth had a score to settle against Chelsea. Having been beaten in the League Cup by them and not looking too far from getting something in the games at Stamford Bridge, it was really something special to get the first win at Dean Court against Chelsea.

I am not sure if this win was better than the 0-3 away win against Chelsea last season, but it will go down as the best result of 2019 so far and it is going to take some beating. That is the important feeling that Bournemouth have to take from this game. They can beat the best sides and beat them well when they take their chances.

Bournemouth have not had a season when they have gone into the second part of it knowing that they are not going to get caught for the relegation spots. So this season could be very different with a win against Cardiff in the next match. The big games will be the Man Utds, Man City, Arsenal Spurs and Liverpool games for sure. But getting a couple of wins against these sides has to be the target for Howe's team now to prove to everyone that they are improving.
