A league double over Brighton would lift the mood at AFCB

The troubles AFCB seem to have just keep being added to. This week it appears that Diego Rico is likely to be out for six weeks with an ankle injury and while AFCB's form has stunk the place out, they really have to find some inspiration from somewhere this week to get a league double over Brighton.
AFCB need to regain some smiles.
There is no need for the mood to be down for much longer. AFCB need to play more to their strengths which they haven't done of late. The passing has to be quicker and the more AFCB can get the ball to Wilson and King and get up in support, the more likely they are to cause problems in Brighton's box.

There has to be more positivity in trying to get midfielders playing more incisive balls and keeping more control of the ball to take the pressure off of the defence. Brighton will play with a lot of pace as they know that has been a difficult for the Cherries as long as early balls forward. But while the styles of play may be very different, Bournemouth don't need to get dragged into an end to end game. Getting a point against Brighton would be a reasonably good result and Bournemouth come into this match with the advantage of knowing that if they don't get beaten they are keeping Brighton amongst others in between them and the relegation zone.

The mental battle is one that Bournemouth can win as well as Brighton have had a hard time of it as well with their FA Cup run having come to an end. Their players know they can't make mistakes as it could be fatal to their survival hopes and that pressure could just start to get at their players if Bournemouth can press them high up the pitch, and pin them in. Bournemouth need to turn the screw on teams again, and get in the habit of seeing how they can get the opposition into difficult situations more often. It starts with positive passing and movement and Eddie Howe's direction.

If Bournemouth can stretch Brighton they will create opportunities and that is what know our players do well when they can get on top. A league double is always hard to achieve but Eddie Howe will be telling his players that if they can make a special effort in this game they will see a big reward in the outlook of fans and team spirit in the games to come.

Possible AFCB Line up
AFCB Subs: Begovic, Mepham, Surman. Ibe, Stanislas, Mousset, Solanke
Eddie Howe could well make some changes and I'd like to see Artur Boruc and Jack Simpson come into the team in particular, but it looks like Adam Smith has to play at left back with injuries to Daniels and Rico.
