Bournemouth nudged closer to relegation with Southampton winning 0-2 at Dean Court. Things are out of Bournemouth's hands and Danny Ings a former Bournemouth player put the Cherries on the verge of relegation with his first half goal. Despite a fantastic penalty save from Aaron Ramsdale to prevent Ings netting his second, Bournemouth couldn't find a way of scoring. Sam Surrdige thought he had done it as a super sub, but his first Premier League goal was chalked off when Callum Wilson was offside. Just to really kick Bournemouth, they lost another goal with Ché Adams denting Bournemouth's goal difference again in added time.
Eddie Howe made two changes with David Brooks and Callum Wilson replacing Dan Gosling and Domonic Solanke.

Southampton earn a corner straight away. Billing as slow to clear and Danny Ings zipped in to get a corner. A shot by Bertrand is blocked.
Billing has a long throw and wins another throw. Lerma has fouled Shane Long. Stacey sells himself short, but is lucky that Long runs it out of play.
King gets the free kick down and Callum Wilson runs on and wins a corner. Saints clear. Lerma and Rico shoots wide. Rico puts in a great cross but Callum Wilson doesn't react. Corner won by Bournemouth on nine minutes.
Lloyd Kelly shoots on the turns and it is deflected wide. Stanislas puts the ball back in and Callum Wilson heads over. Armstrong down the right. Shane Long on the break but Kelly covers.

Fives minutes of added time to play. Solanke has lost it in the box. Surridge wins the ball back. Yellow card for Ward-Prowse. Ings is off for Obafemi. Gosling almost gets through. It's flicked on by Gosling. Surridge scores to get a point. VAR check - is Callum Wilson offside?
VAR rules out the goal. Surridge crosses and Saints clear. Long throw. Steve Cook fouls. Obafemi crosses and Adams has scored. Rico couldn't get near Adams. That's 0-2.
Summary
It wasn't to be was it? Bournemouth are cruelly denied an equaliser and are published by a late, late goal to lose 0-2 and give Watford and Aston Villa a biggerlifeline. Bournemouth can only get 34 pints and will rely on goals to keep them up. Three shots is all the Cherries could manage on target. While Sam Surridge almost had the goal to give Bournemouth fans hope of a point, VAR has kicked us in the teeth again. It feels worse as the Danny Ings goal really secured the Southampton win, and the disappointment of having a goal ruled out probably led to the conceding of the second goal. Bournemouth are still alive but Tuesday night could be curtains.
