AFCB have had some marvelous battles down in League One and Two with the Chairboys, but Wycombe Wanderers have managed to climb to the Championship and will see the match against Bournemouth as one of their toughest gams of the season. Gareth Aisnworth is one of the high-rated new young managers and he has his hands full to try and keep Wycombe up. They are fighting well though and are capable of causing an upset.
Wycombe only lost 1-0 to Reading away and 2-1 to Norwich City away. They don't often get hammered in away games despite being in 23rd place. The one time they were on the end of a thrashing was a 5-0 defeat against Blackburn Rovers in September, but they have hardened up to Championship life since then. They have two draws in their last five games, but haven't won since beating Birmingham City in early November. A last-minute equaliser in their last match against Coventry City was ruled out by an assistant referee's flag, which drove Ainsworth to despair and wishing the Championship had VAR.
Scott Kashkett is Wycombe's top scorer on four goals, while Joe Jacobson has two. Wycombe have only scored 111 goals from their 18 games while conceding 27. They have the worst goal difference in the division and have just won two games.
It's the perfect banana skin. Bournemouth should feel a comfortable win is possible, but Wycombe will be hurting from being denied a point in their last game and they have nothing to lose in having a real go against a top-two side. If they were to win it would do an amazing job for their confidence and that is why Bournemouth have to keep their momentum high going into this game. It is easy to let things slide after a big win and Jason Tndall's big job is to get his Bournemouth side fully-focussed on this next game.
