Your team needs your support
AFCB know exactly how huge the task is that lies in front of them on Saturday. They can claw back much of the damage done in recent games if they can keep their nerve and play with cool heads, harnessing that belief that took them on that long unbeaten run not so long ago. It is very heartening to hear that Charlie Daniels and Tommy Elphick have been in light training this week and that Sheringham and Flahavan have had a game. The sooner we can get more players back the better.
Many supporters are also asking for a change in goalkeeper and I wonder if Allsop will be given his chance. But it is such a vital game that I personally would revert to the experience of David James, because he is most used to the pressure of such a big game. Make no mistake either, it is a massive game. While we have been on a baron run of late, three points at home, in front of a passionate home crowd, would do much to lift the team's spirit and give them the platform to make that final push for a top six place. A defeat will give the message that perhaps we are not good enough and any doubt in players mind at this time of the season is simply something that Eddie Howe and his team cannot afford.
This week more than most, Eddie must get his team selection right. He has a question mark as to who to play at left back. Will he bring Macca back into the starting line up in midfield, too? And who does he play up front having seen Pitman score last time out, but it has been said that he doesn't always put the effort in for the team. Tubbs needs to put a chance away to rebuild his confidence and Grabban needs to find accurate finishes when he is one on one.
If Donny win, AFCB are going to be looking at themselves in the mirror and worrying where it has all gone wrong in the last few weeks. A victory for AFCB now is going to be inspiring. For 90 minutes on Saturday, forget about the last few games and other major issues that have gone on at the club this week. Give your all for the lads because this is the start of the run-in and AFCB needs our full support. UTCIAD!
