Doncaster Rovers have had their fare share of disruption in recent weeks having lost the managerial services of Dean Saunders to Wolves. Still, they have not really stumbled as much as some others and currently sit on top of the pile in League One.
Doncaster's top scorers are David Cotterill (ex-Barnsley) and Billy Paynter (ex Leeds Utd) both on 10 goals with Brown just behind on nine. Ian Hume (ex-Preston), Paynter and Cotterill scored against Hartlepool Utd two games ago and Husband (defender) and Bennett (striker) were on the goal sheet against Shrewsbury Town in the game before that. Striker Chris Brown has been out since Doncaster lost to Walsall on 9 February. So the goal threat is varied and can come from several sources.
However last time out, against MK Dons, Doncaster did not manage to net at all so they can be contained if we can give them enough to worry about up front and don't give away too many set pieces for Husband and the like to get on the end of.
Under Brian Flynn, Doncaster Rovers have fortified their position and had not been conceding too many goals, but MK Dons managed to punish them and we must do the same if and when the chances come. Their away record reads WLDWL, still better than most of the top six. Only Sheffield Utd, Swindon and Yeovil can boast better away records on current form.
In the reverse fixture when AFCB visited Doncaster, last November, the Cherries managed a 0:1 victory and I would expect this match to be similarly tight. Harry Arter scored on that day but he is unavailable through suspension. Mistakes at this stage of the season can be costly as we have seen in recent weeks so the Cherries will be looking to at least keep a clean sheet this time out.
