Cherries win local derby against Dolphins

Poole Town 1 V 3 AFCB

With AFCB playing three games in four days it is not surprising that there were not too many big names at Poole Town. Still Shwan Jalal had recovered enough from his sprained thumb to go in goal and Cornick had another opportunity impress and Jordan Chiedozie was looking to add to his pre-season goal scoring tally - he didn't disappoint.

Here are the Twitter comments as the action unfolded.

After just five minutes the Cherries took the lead as Lamin Dibba headed into his own net. The start to the game was apparently lively with Marvin Brookes beating Shwan Jalal after 10 minutes, but hitting the post for the Dolphins. Poole Town came close again to an equaliser when Jalal pushed another shot on the post on 14 minutes. Poole Town were in the mood during this period with Cann's close range effort bringing another save out of Jalal after 19 minutes as well. Then 10 minutes later Poole finally got their equaliser with Carl Preston beating the keeper 1:1.

Commentary went quite for a bit but after about 38 minutes Aristede Bassele put the Cherries 1:2 up with a neat finish we were told by AFCB. That was also the score at half time. During half time AFCB said former Cherry Mark Molesley was warming up and could feature in the second half. Mark was playing for Exeter City at the end of last season having left the Cherries after a period on loan at Plymouth Argyle.

There were no changes to the teams at half time. The lead for AFCB was extended after 54 minutes when Jordan Chiedozie scored from close range to make it 1:3. Jordan has now scored three goals in pre-season and is top of our Cherry Chimes goalscorers table.

After 63 minutes, Mark Molesley and Chad Collins  replaced Jack Bayley and Shwan Jalal. Then on 67 minutes Chiedozie was subbed by Alan Muscke. Further subs were made on 76 minutes with Jamie West and Kieran Roberts coming on for harry Cornick and trialist Theo Jones. Then on 80 minutes Brad Fountain replaced Josh Wakefield. No more action was reported so the final score was 1:3 to the Cherries.
Shwan Jalal certainly had plenty of save to make first half and only being beaten once is a good sign of his form. At the other end Jordan Chiedozie is notching up the goals as is team mate
Aristede Bassele. It is also good to see that AFCB recorded the same scoreline as Yeovil Town did against the Dolphins a few days ago.

AFCB Team: Jalal (63 Collins), Jones (76 West), McCarthy, Cargill, Kaye, Lossaso, Wakefield (80 Fountain), Bayley (63 Molesley), Cornick (76 Roberts), Bassele, Chiedozie (67 Muscke).

Substitutes: Fountain, Collins, West, Aldesley, Harris, Muscke, Roberts.
