Daniels is close to getting back to his best

You will have noted that Ian Harte was subbed at half time in the Nottingham Forest match to allow Charlie Daniels to come on. I think Djamal Abdoun was causing AFCB a lot of problems down the right wing and Harte was not getting much opportunity to get forward. By bringing on Daniels, Eddie Howe looked to change the dynamics of the play and start pushing Forest back rather than allowing them so much space as they had in the first half.

Charlie gets some game time.
I don't think Harte played that badly, but he was getting swamped by Reid and Abdoun switching wings and taking turns to pin him back. I felt that Surman and Collison should have been doing more to cope with the formation that Forest were employing but they seemed to be bypassed for most of the first half.

When Daniels did come on he did not have the best of starts. He and Pugh kept losing possession up the field but the main thing was that at least it was in the opposition's half. They were pushing forward and it made Forest think more about defending, which was the real success of putting Daniels on the pitch. Daniels still looked a shade off full fitness to me and by the next game he should be a lot sharper which can only be a good thing.
