The Cherries haven't won anything yet

So the Cherries have closed the gap on Reading to just two points. It has been a terrific run but you don't get any prizes for being in ninth place with five games to go. It's concentration now and hoping that no body gets injured. Lewis Grabban came off with a bit of a groin strain so let's hope he can recover quickly for AFCB to take part in Saturday's game against Yeovil.

Will all the hard work pay off this season with a play-off place?

While the players have been clever to manage their time on the pitch, there must be many unsung heroes that are working behind the team in the background among the physios and medics who are patching the players up and getting the best out of them in this final push. The thought of just five league games to go must sound pleasing in some way to those who have played in just about every game and the running of Francis and Grabban must be among the highest in the division this season. Ryan Fraser tweeted hat he was counting the games down but we rally would like eight games to go rather than five Ryan.

The finish line is still some distance away. After winning promotion last season though, the players have that mentality to do it again. Since the form has clicked in they have been untouchable and it would be a shame now if they did not get the rewards that their work deserves. I don't think Eddie Howe will give up on that dream of sixth place and with 61 points on the board they are just a point behind Harry Redknapp's best Cherries Championship team when they finished 12th.

I was reluctant to think past the QPR and Reading games with anything other than saying that there was a slim chance of a play-off place. It is still not in Bournemouth's hands and the results on Tuesday night prove that even the top teams in the division are not going to win every game at this stage of the season. All AFCB can do is keep trying to win their next game. The belief is growing and the noise of the home supporters is really reaching fever pitch levels now. 

A ticket at Dean Court for the remaining homes games have become the hottest tickets in town and that is what so many of us have been waiting to hear for such a long time. UTCIAD!
