Should Wilshere be brought back into AFCB's starting 11?

Eddie Howe has a few decisions to make, but the one that will probably get the most column inches is if he decides to keep Jack Wilshere on the bench for the match with West Ham. Howe was bold in playing two up front at Old Trafford, and it will be hard for him to move way from that, but does the inclusion of Jack Wilshere offer a better strategy against the Hammers than using Afobe?
Jack missed out on the match at Old Trafford.
This week's training will have gone a long way to answering these questions. Benik probably should have scored against Man Utd, but he didn't get many chances to score in that game, even though he played the full 90 minutes. Jack is a very different type of player and the whole way the team plays will be very different if Jack is brought back into the starting 11.

With West Ham being a big team though, I'm inclined to think that Jack may have to prolong his time on the bench. We have seen how well Josh King uses his physicality and I'd like to see Afobe develop that side of his game. The heading part of Benik's game has also been less utilised than it was at Wolves and there's more that Howe can get out of Benik Afobe.

It would be quite something if Howe has come across a need to keep Afobe and King in the team together in the remaining games. It has been Afobe's aim to play more games and to devote himself to this AFCB side to win that shirt. Howe usually rewards players that go that extra mile and I have my fingers crossed that Afobe can start getting on the score sheet like King has been doing.

Wilshere will not be at AFCB next season if what we hear from AFCB does not change. It is a bonus that we have him now, but he has taken a knock and we only want to see a 100 per cent fit Jack Wilshere.

  1. Eddie went 4-4-2 away and so he should at home. 4-4-2 means NO chance for Wilshere. We HAVE to win our home games and that means we HAVE to score goals. Attack, attack, attack, on the front foot from first minute to last is the only way we have a chance of wining our home games. Drew Surman is out and Gosling (who CAN find the back of the net) should be his replacement. Ibe IF fit and IF he's carried on improving in training should also be starting, if not then Marc Pugh or Gradel IF he can now be trusted! Putting West Ham under intense attacking pressure from first minute to last is the only way... and they WILL fold if we do that! All home games are now a series of cup finals.
