The romance of the cup will be a live at Dean Court

A home draw in the FA Cup is all that Eddie Howe could have hoped for and to get a match against AFC Fylde or Wigan Athletic is about as good as it can get at the third round stage. Bournemouth have not had so many home draws in the cup, and we can thank Glenn Hoddle for picking the number one ball out of the bag at the right moment.
AFCB will be looking for a better run in the FA cup than the one they had in 2016-17.
Wigan Athletic will bring back memories of the FA Cup tie we had in 2013 when Eunan O'Kane scored a great goal, but Wigan came back to get the equaliser before progressing in a rematch. Eunan has since gone on to play for Leeds Utd but I'm sure he'll be keen to see how Bournemouth get on if Wigan are the side that come to Dean Court in January.

Before that though, Wigan have a replay against AFC Flyde having drawn 1-1 on 1 December.  The non-league side would of course be excited about a tie against a Premier League team, even if Eddie Howe decides not play the strongest side he could. In some ways, it would be a great game for some of the U21s to be given a go in front of a home crowd and we can hope that Simpson and Mahoney and perhaps Emerson Hyndman can get their boots on for this game.

The aim has to be to progress and Eddie has to put a team out that is capable of that. The defeat against Millwall last season was one of the blots on the record book that he'll not want to repeat. It is as well to remember that Wigan went on to be the winners of the FA Cup in 2013 as well, so times can change very quickly and now is as good a time as any for Bournemouth to try and put a strong cup run together.
