The quality of Jack Wilshere was there for people to see at Watford. He drifts past players with ease and is quick to spot chances to score in front pf goal. He has not netted for the Cherries yet, but it surely won't be long having hit the woodwork in his last couple of games.
Some will criticise Wilshere for not scoring his chance which was fed to him by Adam Smith at Vicarage Road, just before he came off. I wouldn't say it was a sitter, but Jack probably had more time than he thought and the gaping goal enticed him to hit the shot first time on the run. In those instances you either have the right angle or you don't and it was a shame for the team that Jack hit his shot off target on this occasion.
I'm more interested to see the chance he created for himself earlier in the second half. He stepped in and past players, keeping great control and fast footwork to dazzle Prödle and Behrami before beating Gomes, but not the frame of the goal. How many other AFCB players would be able to do that in a match? I suggest Adam Smith and Josh King are probably the other likely candidates, but Wilshere strokes his shot towards goal and makes beating players like shedding peas. It's a special quality and it is wonderful to see him doing in an AFCB shirt if not in an England one.
What we want most of all is to see that first goal for Jack in AFCB colours. When it comes I'll be keen to see not only his but his teammates' reaction. I'd imagine that he will be well celebrated and all the time he is getting to know better how AFCB play. He does add another dimension to the play and can do individual runs that cut teams open. AFCB are not yet scoring freely, but if Jack starts to get that bit of luck he could add a good number of important goals to AFCB's total this season.
