King's injury could push Afobe into Howe's thoughts

The Bournemouth Echo has reported that Josh King has a hamstring injury that could make him a doubt for the Spurs away match, having been substituted in the Norway international match against San Marino. While King scored twice in the 8-0 rout of the footballing minnows, the last thing Eddie Howe needs now is for one of his main strikers to become unavailable.
Can Afobe halt AFCB's goal draught?
The plans for Spurs would have to be adapted fairly quickly if Josh is out of contention. While Callum is getting back to fitness, it would seem best that Howe called on Benik Afobe to fill the void if he wants to go with two strikers on the pitch at Wembley. He could decide that Benik would be good to play as the sole striker anyway, and flooding the midfield is an option that could work best for the team now.

While Benik will have timed his mid-week goalscoring well for the chance to be included, he will have to do a lot of running if he is on his own up front. Getting players in and around him will be something that Howe could work on this coming week. Benik didn't have to turn out for DR Congo. looking at the official website's international brief, so he has very much in focus during training and there has been time to do plenty of work with Benik. He would seem the obvious option to turn to.

Instant heroes are what the Cherries need. Benik has several days before having to prepare for the game if he is needed, and he must believe inside that he is going to be picked to get himself ready for the task.  Who knows what could happen if he did get a winner against Spurs? It would not only be massive for the club, it would really open up the team selection for future games and put Benik's name firmly at the front. An unlikely hero? Well when everyone was watching Callum Wilson make his comeback it is funny how things worked out so well for Benik. Perhaps it is his time.
