Chances come thick and fast for young Brooks

It is very pleasing to see new signings do well as soon as they come into the starting 11. Eddie Howe must be over the moon with how David Brooks has begun his Bournemouth career. It appears like Brooks has been playing for AFCB for ages in the way he fits in so well, and yet at Sheffield United he was laying more centrally behind the main attacker.
David Brooks will have to start taking his chances in front of goal,
but he can't get fixated on having to score as he is doing so much else so well.
On the right wing, Brooks has been able to put crosses in and out run defenders. The trickery he has enabled hi to win the free kick before Steve Cook's headed goal against West Ham. Brooks continues to have a positive impact. He might be annoyed that he missed a great header from Surman's lofted cross at the end of the first half against West Ham, but he kept on trying. The move he made to put Wilson in on goal in the first half was a deft touch and on another day it would have gone down as a great assist.

The turn and shot he made at the start of the second half also had Fabianski at full stretch and West Ham's defenders scrambling to keep up with Brooks. He doesn't look like a player that is going to hurt you, but he has a knack of finding space and getting clean passes and shots away when opposition players are all around him.

I am hoping that Brooks does score soon as it is the only part missing from his two games so far. He has been so good that Jordan Ibe has not had a sniff at getting time on the pitch and who would of thought that Simon Francis would become the super sub of the first couple of games when Bournemouth already had leads? Brooks may not have played the full 90 minutes, but when he does get a goal or two I expect Howe might let him play more of the minutes. He just needs to keep getting into great positions and the finishes will start to come I'm sure.

In other news, Jack Simpson's proposed loan move to Rangers is off according to the Daily Star.
