As Bournemouth get ready to take on Everton today, many pundits will expect the Cherries to slip up against a team that finished higher than them in the league last season. But last season the Cherries secured a 2-1 home win against Everton in December and beating teams expected to finish in the top half of the division are what AFCB have to do if they want a better finish themselves. Home form needs to be good, especially at the start of the season to set a platform, and if the Cherries can get back to the lightening start they made against Marseilles, then Bournemouth can emerge from this game on nine points.
Playing on the front foot is what Eddie Howe will want to do. Getting the players frame of mind in the right place to do that is what training will be all about this last week. Against West Ham, Bournemouth didn't get the electric start they needed and they'll want to get away from any added pressure of falling behind at home against Everton.
The stats tend to forecast a close game and that Bournemouth could just have the edge if they can make a better attempt at getting their shots on target. Passes per game are very similar at just over the 400 mark, while Bournemouth crossing accuracy is higher even though Everton cross the ball into the box more often.

Everton, themselves have not managed to keep a clean sheet in either of their games so far with a 2-2 draw against Wolves in a 2-1 win over Southampton. Bournemouth have been creating chances and if they can take them early on we will see Everton having to cope with the pressure of being behind in the game. Everton have not managed an away win yet, so they are not invincible. Richarlison has scored in both their games though and Bournemouth must try and be the first team to stop him.

Players expected to be out for Everton include: Andre Gomes, Morgan Schneiderlin, and Yerry Mina. Doubts over starting places are Lucas Digne, Bernard and Kurt Zouma.
Bournemouth are without Junior Stanislas and Kyle Taylor.
