Having swarmed all over Chelsea and recorded one of the best Premier League results in Bournemouth's history it befalls Eddie Howe's men to go to Cardiff City, who are fighting for heir lives. Being four points adrift, only wins are going to do for Cardiff in their home games and in their last three home matches they have only picked up a point against Huddersfield. So this match against Bournemouth is probably bigger for Cardiff than it is for AFCB, and Howe has to make this clear to his players who can expect a tough battle.
This game will be all about concentrating on doing the basics right and not getting caught up in the emotion of what will be very moving moments pre-match. Bournemouth are likely to be without Callum Wilson, Jefferson Lerma and David Brooks who picked up a second half injury against Chelsea last time out. That is likely to mean Junior Stanislas playing in the number 10 role and Jordan Ibe coming into the side on the right wing. Keeping a good balance is what Howe will want to achieve and we all know it is about time that Ibe stepped up and had a game of real quality in the Premier League - this could be his moment.
Bournemouth know that if they can get the ball to Fraser and King on the break that hey will stretch this Cardiff defence which has conceded 46 goals in 24 games. Cardiff have seen four of their five wins come at home though so don't believe that Bournemouth just have to turn up to get three points. Bournemouth have lost their last six away games! This game really is the perfect banana skin for AFCB.

Can Bournemouth get a similar result to their first game of the season? |
Neil Warnock has still been keen to get players into Cardiff during the January window and he managed to sign Oumar Niasse from Everton on loan and Leonardo Bacuna from Reading for an undisclosed fee. The need for goals is apparent at Cardiff and Niasse could be the signing that is a masterstroke. Cardiff will go down fighting if they do go down and no one can deny Cardiff a bit of good fortune after the tragedy of Emiliano Sala's disappearance.
