Forest Green Rovers - who are they?

Forest Green Rovers are a club that try to be green in everything they do, and there is much that the big clubs could take on board from their owners that are the first vegan club and carbon neutral certified by the United Nations. But for any supporter it is what a club does on the pitch that get fans coming back match after match and Rovers have done pretty well of late by beating Championship side Charlton Athletic in the last round of the Carabao Cup 5-3 on penalties.
Will it be a reasonable crowd for Forest Green Rovers?
Taking on AFC Bournemouth second-string won't be any easier for Forest Green Rovers and for them it is a dream tie in many respects to get a Premier League club, even if Bournemouth's gate is not a big one. Lying third on League Two, Forest Green Rovers are a club on the up and they have won three of their five games this season in League Two.

Joseph Mills, 28, is their leading goalscorer. He has scored in his last two league games and has three league goals in total. Mills is a defender which gives you an idea that Rovers like to get their defenders forward. He is the main penalty taker and club captain. He played 28 games for Southampton earlier on his career so we can only imagine what it would mean for him to score against Bournemouth. Taylor Allen, 18, and Junior Mandal, 21, have also been on the score sheet this season.

Mark Cooper is the manager who came to the club in 2016,. He has an extensive playing and managerial career, but it has been mainly in the lower leagues.

  1. Hi, a quick correction: it wasn't Joseph Mills who was sent off last week (at Bradford), but his elder brother (and player-coach), defender Matt Mills.
