It would not be such a shock to see him return though if he felt he can work with Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall and he left on good terms with the club in 2012. The French connection could also be helpful to Yann Kermorgant and Stephane Zubar who are already at the Cherries. For Baudry a move to a Championship club would be a step up and a chance to work again with familiar team mates if he came back to Dean Court, but I suspect that he might have more to gain if he were to establish himself at Charlton or Brentford.

Eddie Howe always says that he wants to add higher quality to the team than it already has to move it forward and for me Baudry does not quite fit the bill at this point.

I remember him as having been signed by Lee Bradbury and released by Groves. That would mean he has never worked with Eddie and Jason.
ReplyDeleteLast season I went to a Leyton Orient game to see M Baudry and M Bartley play. They were top of the division at the time but lost that particular home game, Baudry switched off totally for around 30 seconds and that was when the winning goal went in. It was so blatant I wondered if he had been kicked, he simply stopped running and the man he should have been marking scored.
Marvin Bartley came on as a sub with LO 2 goals down, missed a kick totally but then scored the consolation goal a few minutes later.
The chances of Charlton being interested are quite low now. The addicks have completed the signing of 2 centre backs in the last week and have promoted a youth academy product to the first team squad. With at least 4 players competing for the two positions and the need to recruit elsewhere in the squad, I would doubt that Charlton would swoop for a new defender, especially one that is going to incur a cost to the club
ReplyDeleteBaudry's agent is trying for a payrise ans new contract as we now have a new billionaire owner doubt he will be coming your way guys!
ReplyDeleteI'm the Anon above and best of luck to you and him (assuming you support LO).
DeleteWhat shocked me when I went to that game was the attendance figure of under 5000 when you were top of the table. Ok, the weather was miserable (wet and windy) but there should have been more there than that.
Does this mean those idiotic plans to share the Olympic Stadium are off the agenda? It would have been like watching Darlington.
Leyton Orient came to an out of court settlement with West Ham about the Olympic stadium about a week ago. No details were given.
