Macca keen to continue success at AFCB

Shaun MacDonald (Macca) is one of those ideal pros who never lets any one down and that makes him a man in demand for clubs looking to see if AFCB are overweight with players this summer. Gary Johnson at Yeovil Town is having to rebuild his squad for their League One campaign and Shaun has been at the Somerset club before and would be an ideal candidate for their team if they could get him on loan. However, reading the statements that MacDonald made to the Bournemouth Echo it appears that he is more intent on having a good pre-season and getting himself ready to battle for a place in the Cherries' team.
Macca at Yeovil last season.
While it would be familiar for him to go back to Yeovil I wonder if there is a sense of - been there done that about playing in League One again for Shaun. He has been part of the successful Cherries side that worked so hard to gain promotion in 2013 and it is only natural for him to want to continue being a part of a successful team. Whether he is able to get back into the starting line up is something that Eddie Howe will have to decide, but I would hope that everyone starts with a clean sheet.

Macca has slotted into the central midfield role very comfortably when he has had the opportunity and his passing has been consistent. Whether he offers enough going forward is perhaps the main question mark against him and it is something that Eddie Howe looks to have been keen to support with the signings of Gosling and Stanislas. The friendlies coming up this month will gradually sort out the team for that first fixture on 9 August and I don't dismiss the possibility that Shaun MacDonald could have some involvement in that squad with his attitude to get his head down during pre-season.
Macca wants to prove he can do a job at AFCB.
