Wilson will deliver goals

It was great for Callum Wilson to get back on the score sheet against Brighton. he was running just about everywhere to try and get his goal and had he not received a shove in the back in the penalty box he might have been on the score sheet even earlier.
Callum will  probably miss the FA Cup game
but hopefully he saves his goals for the Premier League.
Bournemouth need their goal scorers on the pitch and scoring and with Jermain Defoe out until at least the end of February and Junior Stanislas and Josh King nursing hamstring pulls it really has fallen to Callum Wilson to keep the goals coming. It's a pressure that I believe he likes and it gives him a focus on the job at hand rather than worrying about whether he will play from one week to another.

Wilson still has much to prove in the Premier League and now he finally has a good run at it. Eddie Howe said he didn't really want him to have to play against Brighton but there was little option really unless he had given Mousset the 90 minutes. What Callum has is an ore about him though that puts fear in defeners. They know he is quick and capable of pinching goals from all kind of angles and to leave him out of the team is not a good idea when AFCB need goals.

I felt he had better chances against Everton than he did against Brighton, but like most of the team it did not help that the Brighton came up so quickly after the win against Everton. The impressive fact is that Bournemouth have a striker who is getting shots on target. He is also throwing himself about like he never had the horrendous injuries he has had and it is like AFCB have a new player.

  1. I notice you didn't mention Afobe as a potential goal scorer! Personally I think he's useless, though the fans seem to like him. Perhaps Eddie Howe will sell him...............

  2. He started well when he joined the club but he has never been a prolific scorer for AFCB. Howe says he is part of his plans and I think he will not be sold before the summer but things could happen then.
